As we start week #3 of lockdown, we continue to be bowled over by the numerous ways our clients and supply partners are supporting the national effort. Here are three more stories that prove just how fantastic you all are.
Space for blood donors
The NHS needs more blood but in the current lockdown this is not easy to manage whilst ensuring social distancing. Step forward one of our super clients in the South West of England, which has made its large sports hall available for blood donation sessions, allowing enough space between beds to keep donors and nurses safe and the sessions viable.
Delivering essentials to the vulnerable
Two of our major suppliers are at the forefront of the Government’s initiative to deliver essential food to some of the land’s most vulnerable people. Over the past week, bags containing bread, milk, eggs, fruit and vegetables have been delivered to doorsteps up and down the United Kingdom, helping the vulnerable staying safely isolated.
Caring for health & safety
A gin distillery has turned it’s hand to making hand sanitiser alongside their usual juniper-infused brand. The sanitiser produced is around 80% alcohol, so it exceeds WHO standards and supports the fight against the coronavirus. The distillery is currently supplying two of our care home clients – helping to keep residents and care staff safe.
